Weekday lunch at home during quiet hour

Hey! I'm having some friends over for a cuppa during the week..I imagine that since its in the day, ofcourse it will spill over into the 12-1pm quiet hour. I don't think we'll be very loud, but I'm sure 10 people won't be hushing up for an hour. Should I expect some trouble from the neighbours or should I let them know in advance anyway?? Any ideas, or past experiences would be appreciated. I was thinking of having a neighbourhood Apero (AKA bribe the neighbours with food and drink!) prior to this...what do you think? thanks a bunch!

Re: Weekday lunch at home during quiet hour

Generally I think it's a good idea to get to know your new neighbors when you move in. There's at least one member who organised an apero, I hope she'll post soon how it went.

It can't be generally answered if you'll have reclamations for a one-time event during midday (more probable at night in my opinion). Avoid excessive noise and everything should go well, contrary to popular belief some Swiss invite each other, even on middays!

Re: Weekday lunch at home during quiet hour

Unless you have a grumpy neighbour that insists on his post-lunch nap, weekday lunchtime is when working people are out, stay-at-home mums feed the hungry spawn and every other normal person is eating.

Quiet time is from 1pm - 3pm or us Swissies would be sucking soup through a straw (NO SLURPING! ).

And in normal buildings, with normal working stiffs, it's only on Sundays that it's considered a shooting offence to not observe quiet time.
