OK...the boss knows some lad, who'd they'd love to employ as the office DJ. He's game, the boss is game, all the employees (except Horace who prefers smooth classics) are cool with it.

Except the lad is from Peru, and there's no way he'll get the permit to work there.

So the boss is obliged to advertise the position in such a way that almost nobody will fulfil the requirements. He'll do a couple of interviews, reject the other candidates, and bingo! the Peruvian lands the job as office DJ, just as he was intended to.

I wouldn't bother applying, if I were you. Save your train fare for a real opportunity.

Re: Only in Switzerland....DJ with a degree to work at lawyers office!!!

I know people who gave a mandate to a lawyer to manage a set of apartments they own. He's responsible for the collection of rent, obviously the contracts, all expenses repair stuff and maintenance if needed and hiring a caretaker.
Could it be that the lawyer manages a disco, nightclubs or cabarets ?

PS:Nothing says in the ad that DJ will work at lawyer's office. Location is just Geneva and the address of application is the lawyer's office.

Ok Ok, In real world Djs are hired / booked by promoters or club managers and are normally asked to provide demos / promos not a C.V with university / technical degree.....that's why i said Only in Switzerland

And i'm definitely not thinking of applying for this

formation prof. élément. (entreprise et école)

What the hell studies got to do with being a DJ, Djing is all about taste in music and mixing technique even if you don't know how to read or write

"formation prof. élément." = "formation professionnelle élémentaire" means sth. like "very basic training". In Switzerland, that is (was) the most basic form of vocational training, shorter and less demanding than any apprenticeship.

Their phone hold music is something special.

"This one goes out to Line 4, who has been holding for 7 minutes. Blondie..."

Well, from my experience does anyone need some job interview training before you interview for the job you actually really want - the practice makes you better prepared, less nervous and you get used to the standard questions and can answer them without thinking too much.

This sounds like a chance to make a really interesting experience... you won't get a job, but you could have a really good time without pissing off a potential employer. Just go there for the fun of it.

Re: Only in Switzerland....DJ with a degree to work at lawyers office!!!

Couldn't see the ad, seems to have gone now.

I can only think they were perhaps looking for someone to clear copyrights in mixtapes/cds and need someone able to tell one track/sample from another. Seems a bit much for a full time job though. Maybe the lawyers specialise in music copyright?
