The local paper didn't check all garages- but those at 1.28 are in Boudry, Colombier and 1.29 in Boudeviliier and Gampelen, 1.32 in Fleurier and 1.33 in Dombresson, 1.35 in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

No VAT either.

Despite being located in Switzerland, you are still required to clear thru Swiss customs (or Austrian customs).

For Switzerland the duty free allowance is Fr. 300.-

I checked around here and the ones in Gampelen ( not in canton Neuchatel anyway) are the same price as before (1.28) and the ones in Marin are at 1.30 so about 3cts cheaper than before. The Ile filling station in Boudry and the COOP pronto in Colombier were already down to 1.28 before last weeks' events so in fact not much has changed really ( except possibly for the more rural areas).

Neuchâtel is certainly one of the cheaper places for petrol in Switzerland which is nice as it's more expensive for a lot of other things.

Cheapest I've seen in ZH city (Wehntalerstrasse) is 1.359 and today I filled up in Baden at 1.27 which was nice

138-143 around monthey. Cheapest I have seen is near border at 1.36
first time I can remember that Swiss petrol is more expensive than french. Filled up in evian for 1.28eur

1.27, over the border (10 minutes away) in Germany. Otherwise 1.37 (after 3 Rp. discount coupon, which every customer is given anyway, so why don't they just advertise the price as CHF 1.37 ...?).

So use normal 95 sans plomb, and not E10. It's not that hard to find, is it?

Actually yes - 99% of French stations serve three kinds of fuel: 95E10, 98 and diesel. Around Geneva only the Leclerc pump in Ferney has low-ethanol SP95.
