Current Swiss Fuel Prices

Hi there,
We are relocating back to Switzerland and we are trying to calculate the running cost of each car option we have in mind.
Could you please do me a favour of telling what today's Swiss fuel prices are:
I'm looking for
Diesel
95 octane unleaded
98 octane unleaded

Cheers

Re: Current Swiss Fuel Prices

Diesel around CHF 1.72/l,
well I think that's what I saw today and in my area so ... but it may be different tomorrow though.

Re: Current Swiss Fuel Prices

Lausanne and area:

95 CHF 1.72
98 CHF 1.75

Sorry, don't look at the diesel prices but from memory about CHF 0.08 more per litre than 95.

Some gas stations offer CHF 0.05 off per litre coupons at the moment.

Re: Current Swiss Fuel Prices

How can the fuel suppliers justify these prices. AFAIK we don`t produce oil here so the oil is imported and with the strength of the CHF these prices should be way lower by now. That must be getting close to a racketeering charge.

Sell your cars. Public transportation here is the best in the world! Family of 4 here, no car x 3 years, however we do use mobility cars occasionally, which is a car sharing service. Very easy to use, and the cars are always nearby.

Ideal for those who live in rural areas then?

My nearest bus stop is 1.5km away and nearest train station 7km, nice if it's pissing down with rain and you have x2 screaming kids in tow.

Makes complete sense.

Think before posting....

Where in the post did they say rural areas? Quite obviously they're talking about the city.

Yes, but not everyone lives in the "city", obviously.

Re: Current Swiss Fuel Prices

The point is that whether it is private car owners, public transport or commercial transport (i presume that non car owning households use Le Shop or similar rather than lugging heavy shopping home?) the fuel cost which is unjustified is costing them more either in delivery fees or taxes as the cost of transportation rises with the cost of fuel. It seems some arguments are a little one dimensional today

I'm sure the OP asked for current fuel prices and not a lecture on how to save the environment, or the joys of swiss transport and mobility schemes.

I assume there's a reason for that. He's lived here before and may know what he's doing.

Slug Salt was merely pointing out how good the transport system. And perhaps saying that if you can get away with it, its good (and cheaper) not to have a car (esp with todays fuel prices). No "save the environment", no "cars suck" chat going on. Just a quick comment.

So there was no need for the "think before posting" malarky was there....

Erm it's not cheaper and quicker for me.. So what's the argument? You dont know why the OP was asking so why the suggestion.

He may like the convience of a car, what does it matter?

He didn't ask for public transport costs or schemes. Technically off topic, self promotion of ideals, and annoying since you have zero idea why the OP asked the question.

Perhaps he is looking at public transport and was comparing costs, which means either way it does not help the OP. So again think before posting.
