Re: Aggressive neighbour

If the case is going to court and he already has a previous history then you might get some kind of a solution, though I have to say that if you have a neighbour who has a previous history and is pretty unbalanced and not deterred by this, you are in for a tough time. The penalties for attacks are usually not very severe unless arms are involved. Definitely get some kind of video surveillance of your area of the property. Carrying a phone with camera/video is something you can do, as you can record any attempt to threaten you and this might make you feel safer. I'm hoping that your neighbour will be deterred by decisive action on your part. Good luck. Let us know what happens as I am sure it would help others in similar situations.

Re: Aggressive neighbour

And also, please write down EVERYTHING that happens!! all communication and interactions although of course keep these to the absolute minimum that is possible!

To record voice and video is a great idea and will only help to back you up... might be worth checking if something recorded with out someone else's knowledge is accepted in a court or legal situation..

Re: Aggressive neighbour

I am not sure about recording and video surveillance without the person's knowledge, but I have often seen notices saying something like "these premises have video surveillance" and that does hold up for court evidence. Equally if you are in a threatening situation and decide to record it you can always announce you are recording it and then there should be no problem. Hopefully either procedure might act as a deterrent. Particularly in situations where there are no independent witnesses.

Re: Aggressive neighbour

Guys, this thread is almost a year old. Unless the OP says otherwise, it is a safe bet it has been resolved one way or another.

Edit: and the OP hasn't posted since October last year.
