New stamps from Swiss Post

Special stamps: Festive Christmas motifs

"Chapel", "Christmas tree" and "Chalet" – three new special stamps from Swiss Post accentuate this year’s Christmas mail with a festive note.

A new feature of the Christmas stamps is that they are self-adhesive.

People who purchase the new Pro Juventute stamps featuring the topics of "Trust", "Confidence", "Security" and "Friendship" can do a good deed.

The surcharge will contribute to the activities of Pro Juventute in honour of its centenary in 2012.

An additional special stamp has been designed by rapper Stress and depicts the diversity of Switzerland from his perspective. All stamps in the current issue will be on sale as of 24 November 2011.

With the three motifs "Chapel" for CHF 0.85, "Christmas tree" for CHF 1.00 and "Chalet" for CHF 1.40, Swiss Post is once again offering festive design elements for domestic and international Christmas greetings in the run-up to Advent. As of this year, the stamps will be self-adhesive. They were designed by Raphael Volery from Zurich. Matching Christmas card sets are also available.

Though they have not announced it yet, we can refer to last year´s release about mailing for the festive season.

For Swiss Post, the run-up to Christmas is the busiest time of the year. To ensure your Christmas post arrives on time, Swiss Post recommends you bear in mind the last possible mailing dates and times.

Payments and payment orders must also be sent by their respective deadlines to guarantee that they are credited and debited to the desired accounts by the end of the year.

The country’s 250 biggest post offices will remain open for postal transactions until 4 p.m. on 24 and 31 December.

In the run-up to Christmas, Swiss Post processes one million parcels and up to 20 million letters a day. To ensure that Christmas post can be placed under the tree in time for Christmas, Swiss Post would encourage its customers to mail their parcels and letters as early as possible. The following deadlines apply:

I did. I found themquite awkward to manipulate. I didn't like the peel off from the centre concept at all.

The idea is great but the execution is a POS. I ruined two of them (could not get the second half of the plastic off). It tore off the paper itself.

You think I will be able to get my money back at the Post Office?
