The 17 cm hot dog advertising campaign

I can't believe people get paid to make advertising like this. It's so unoriginal and boring and typical. I drive by this poster almost every day wondering when they'll finally remove it and the other day I even heard a radio spot about it. Is it supposed to be funny or creative? I wonder if it's even effective?

Re: The 17 cm hot dog advertising campaign

Marketing the hot dogs to men I guess was deemed a good idea; most women I know would also roll their eyes at this sort of ad.

It could be worse, at least she is not licking the hot dog or putting it into her mouth in the photo!

That Muslim cleric mentioned in yesterday's thread about the bananas will probably need to ban women from touching hot dogs as well.

Re: The 17 cm hot dog advertising campaign

We have this poster in front of our work place. When I saw it for the first time I was thinking "the only way they could make this more obviously sexual is having some lighter mustard smeered on the corner of her mouth"

Then I felt ashamed because it can't possibly be that sexual. It must be my dirty mind playing tricks.

I'm relieved that I am not that crazy after all!

Methinks it is somewhat lacking in the girth department.

I would say the fact that you're talking about the ad means its done its job quite well! The worst ads are always the most memorable and break through the most.

Wow. Congrats. We now all know that Avec have 17cm hot dogs. Whoever thought up the ad, must be laughing all the way to the bank.

What was your take on the profits?

It would be a good ad if I remembered it for the product advertised. To be honest, I have no idea if it was mustard, sausage, hot dogs, or blond hookers.

I can see why it's caused a fuss.

Dozy bint's eating her hot dog sideways. All her onions have fallen off.
