| | | Best place to go Xmas shopping?
Tomorrow i am setting off early to get my xmas shopping done, but actually not sure where to go.
Dont want to stay in Switzerland, would rather save cash in germany or france, but as i will need to drive quite a while, i dont want to get to my desination and be disappointed in the lack of shops.
Konstanz is on my mind, does it have a large centre with lots of shops? As i dont really know what i want i need a selection of all kinds of shops, or even better a large shopping centre (which i think there is one in Konstanz)
Its just over an hour from lenzburg, thats about as far as i will travel, or does anyone know of anything closer and better?

Konstanz is a convenient place, awfully crowded day by day though ( best days used to be Tue, Wed and Thu but approaching Christmas, all days of the week seem to be crowded ). Shopping in Konstanz, Germany where to go for shopping at Konstanz?
Lago for example http://www.lago-konstanz.de/
or
Waldshut http://www.kaufda.de/Waldshut-Tiengen
Both valid using a Tageskarte if using public transport from CH
Also Basel: Basel Cross-border shopping by Public Transportation

Konstanz has a shopping centre (sorry cant remember the name off the top of my head) right opposite the station where the SBB train will stop, very convenient, as well as town centre with many different shops where you can stretch the Swiss Franc! Well worth a day trip.

Don´t forget to save a bit more cash by declaring your purchases for the VAT difference ( lots of threads on this on EF ) especially if spending around CHF300.

London. If you are not too far from an airport it can be done very efficiently in a day or two.

Rightly mentioned Konstanz was a good find indeed ...
although the time to reach there is about 1 hour and for the last three times I have been there, it took additional 45 mins to enter the mall due to ill managed car parking on Saturdays.

Dear OP, can Amazon.de sell you what you need?
You can get a German address at las-burg.de right on the border with Basel.
I've no affiliation with either org.

If you are prepared to go that little bit further, Freiburg im Breisgau is very good for shopping - atmospheric Christmas market and then all the shops you'd expect for a big city centre.

I am thinking about Lindau by the Lake of Constance. Never been there but heard it is very pretty. I can imagine Konstanz to be awefully full and am looking for alternative. It is just at the corners of Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Can anyone share experience about Lindau?
p/s: It is an island by the way...

Lindau is very pretty and a great place to visit in summer, but it's fairly limited regarding shops. Even Friedrichshafen further down the Bodensee coast has more choice.
