Lets hear it for the Sun

Yesterday was the winter solstice where hippys and Pagans celebrate the sun on the shortest day of the year, this is the real reason for Christmas.
So lets hear it for the sun...thank you for not exploding yet and for skin cancer.

ps. Thanks for the page 3 boobies as well.

Two types of sun being talked about here.

The sun: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_sun

The Sun: http://www.thesun.co.uk

One vastly more useful than the other. Although fish & chip wrapping can be quite handy...

The big shiney thing in the sky that isn't that pompous pretender called the moon celebrated it's shorted day of the year yesterday =
The Winter Solstice.

People worship the sun and give thanks for it...I was also giving thanks to the Sun. (which is also a newspaper http://www.thesun.co.uk/ with a propensity for showing top heavy lovelies sans clothes on its third page)

If you want to thank the Sun for being a large gas giant that one day might turn into a red dwarf, then go ahead.

It's British humour. It's all a bit like the metric system and mini-roundabouts. Americans please move on. Nothing to be seen in this thread
