| | | Migros animal pendants.
Hi. I saw this in 20 minutes and google translated it but am still confused.
If this a new promotion? If so, it looks good, but I couldn't find any details. http://www.20min.ch/finance/news/sto...Palme-16783224
p.s. I really want to get my kid one so she will grow into a satanist, I was in two minds before SVP and Christian groups condemned it.

Hopefully the Christians will keep away from kids wearing these fearful talismans.
If I hear of one more kid in my son's school try and ram Christianity down his throat I'm going to give the parents a piece of my mind.
(and they're certainly not Swiss).

Ě just think people like to read too much into things... Last years new year Migros was the Nanos... Give your kid pill like choking hazards and get them used to nano technology all in one *sigh* No matter what kind of promotion they bring out, it's going to piss someone off... As for me, we got 2 with our lunch yesterday and I find them to be rather cute (in a native american kind of way) |

I always think living in a nation where people actually have time to talk about stuff like that, must be a nation without too many other problems...
I like that! | | The following 2 users would like to thank sarel for this useful post: | |

We had an explosion of penguins so far.
While i have had enough of migros collections and have sworn to not buy the 15chf box and sticker book that goes with it, i will not refuse at the checkout or from friends. I find them cute and will buy my boys leather bands to wear them with, but i will not try to make a complete collection.

I refused to collect for the last mania, and was chewed out by colleagues at work for being so thoughtless as to not think of them!
So this go around I am collecting. But I got a bonus today at the store, because the clerk gave me 8 of the things. geez!

And woe is the kid who doesn't have an aqua-stone that will be coming out on Wednesday. http://www.migros.ch/de
I have been warned...
No idea how I am going to get 3 of the buggers, and your minimum purchase is 60chf to get one.
Should I teach my kids materialism, or to find joy in pretty shiny things because everyone else has got one, or how to live with disappointment?

I am glad I haven't got kids now. This commercial bullying combined with tons of unnecessary waste really gets me (:
and I am neither SVP nor Christian.

We're certainly not preaching atheism but as he has not been taught about a particular religion, he's got a really open, questioning mind and, at the moment, a God does not make sense to him.

I am absolutely promising myself that I will never ever buy into these stupid schemes when my little one is at an age where it becomes the done thing.
I am absolutely with Odile. Migros will not make me feel like a inadequate parent, will not make me mass-buy to get a shďtty made in china piece of crap. No matter how many people keep telling me "oh, you'll see...." NEVER!!

Full circle.
I wondered what the 60CHF thing was. I thought it was just a minimum for all of them. Not the 'special' ones. Also, not sure how they work out how many to give you, when I spent CHF90 I got 4 and when I spent CHF40 I got 6. I think, from observation, they just grab a handfull.
I'm not bothered about the elementals. And I don't think I'll ever get 48. But I really want the Narwhal. my kid is only 3 though so doesn't yet suffer from peer pressure (except when it comes to pink)

Yes, its this cute game where you collect stone-age looking pendants and use them in a game you can buy at Migros. You can also string them as necklaces.
I don't know where the satanist business comes from as they represent prehistory and the designs are made to look like the neolithic cave paintings in Spain and Southern France.
Its just another money-making promotion, but it is somewhat educational as you collect Northern European ice age animal species. People who relate it to a threat to religion are just plain ignorant.

I was happy to get a necklace with the joker, means i do not have to go buy one for my boys as i love these stones for necklace value. The next 2 Wednesdays will be the earth and something else stones on the 4th Wednesday of jokers will be an ID pass (sounds crap).
How many you get in entirely up to the person serving you i find, we once spend 50chf and got a handful, last Saturday i spent close to 38chf and the woman refused to give me 2 stones. The rule is every 20chf gets you a normal stone, for the joker is 60chf, although last Wednesday i took my boys with me and spent 80ish and each got a joker, taking the kids with you when you go shopping might wield you more stones LOL.
My kids do suffer from peer pressure, although i find these things rather educational myself, with the help of family we may finish it, i do my main shopping on Wednesday instead of Friday for the joker (main shopping is always 90chf plus LOL), but i will not buy more because of stones and those trading fairs they do is OUT.

I feel rather unloved in that no Christian has ever upbraided me for the New Zealand Maori jade pendant that I have on constantly. You'd think they'd be much more aware of the danger from such pagan influences on me and on their children.

You're sounding like a bunch of crotchety old geezers who sit around and complain about how much better things were when they were kids
When I was a kid there were promo's that all of the kids had to have and we drove our folks nuts to get these stupid little plastic things. Are you really so ancient that you can't remember the same where you and your friends collected, swapped and drove your parents crazy over getting the newest ones?
This is nothing new, it's been in our lives for decades, why get so stressed

The wooden game is quite nice. It teaches a version of a traditional African game, and it's nicer than the nanos.
My son loves collecting those, and as I usually shop at Migros anyway I don't mind. And it's quite educative to learn about the animals and the continents. Muche more so than with the nanos anyway.
But I missed the special aqua one, anyone has a spare one????
