Radio controlled toys and models

My son has a few radio controlled cars that we brought over from the UK when we moved. Hopefully we will get our stuff out of storage in a couple of weeks and he can use them again.

Does he need a permit to use a radio controlled toy or model in Switzerland?

What frequencies do the Swiss use for radio controlled models?

Is it OK to use radio gear from the UK or US?

Re: Radio controlled toys and models

He has some that use 27Mhz, others that use 40Mhz.

I found this http://www.ukrcc.org/switzerland.html just a few minutes ago which I will use to cross check his crystals with.

I still don't know if a permit is required, I am assuming public liability insurance will be required and I will check with our existing insurer if it is already covered.

There is no license required.

Liability insurance is required by clubs (and is also a very good idea even if you fly out of a field) for planes and helos and it's a plain vanilla add-on to the normal insurance.

There's little chance of this happening...
