I'm so glad I own a small car (VW Lupo), it averages 6 liters per 100km..! It kills me to see the pump go over 40.- chf. when I fill up but then a smile returns to my face when I see the Jeep Wrangler at the next pump topping up at 140.- chf..!!! and I know he's not driving much farther than I am on that same fill-up.
Sure I wouldn't mind cruising down the road in a big powerful vehicle but at a 140.- chf or more for a fill-up...?!?! No F^çking way...!!!!
I've just switched from 1.7 diesel manual to 2.4 petrol auto.
I want to cruise in a luxury barge instead of a tractor.

Bollocks to the planet, I have no kids to leave it to...

...and you are quite happy donating a large slice of your income to the Middle East oil states?

My few rappen doesn't really matter, say compared to US or Chinese oil consumption = money flowing into their coffers.
Or anyone else here driving a big off motor.

Of course, it could be a protest thing, like boycotting South African apples or French wine or goods produced using child labour or Chinese human rights, but there are so many worthy causes I'd end up buying nothing.

Although, I could look at it as job preservation: ready for when the Large Bank I work for needs a capital boost from the oil Sheikhs...

The only thing they can do with that money is spend it in our economies. I mean, it's not like that wealth disappears.

Re: Fuel Price in Zürich

I think I will have to move to Switzerland sooner, rather than later. Fuel prices are going up almost every day. Local garage (Texaco) is charging 109.9p/l for unleaded and 115.9p/l for diesel. With the budget next week, we can probably look forward to another 5p/l. Who said it was cheaper to live over here?

Current CH Fuel Prices?

For those of us not in Switzerland, what are the current prices per liter of regular-grade gas, premium, and diesel? I've also heard it might be cheaper to go over the border to Italy, France, Germany, or Austria (if it's close). What are your experiences? Thanks!

Re: Current CH Fuel Prices?

Here in Lugano, I paid 1.81 chf per liter for 95 octane gas. The premium octane (98 octane I believe) was 1.86 per liter. Not sure about diesel. I think that is usually about 5 or more cents per liter more than the premium regular octane.

1.79 for standard 95 RON petrol around Kloten.

French diesel is cheaper, otherwise it's cheaper here then France or Germany.
However, French diesel can be hit or miss depending ob brand/bio percent. My last car did not run well on Avia and Agip diesel.
