| Marianted and breaded (panée) meat across border
Can't find the thread where this was discussed a few days ago. Just had a friendly chat about this with 2 of my custom's officer neighbours. As far as they are concerned, they always ask for the receipt for any meat. So if bought as marinated or breaded, according to receipt, then they will allow it through (but covered with cracked pepper and garlic would not be considered marinated) - but if it was clearly bought as non-marinated/breaded meat- then placed in a container with marinade, they would charge import tax. They agree it is ambiguous, but they would charge and let the importer argue it with Customs authorities and the courts.
(oops, how does one edit sp mistake in title?).
