Question about large appliances

Hi,
So our clothes dryer has gone out, adn the repair for it is roughly 800 francs...the repair man said that although the advertised price of new is quite high, if you ask for 40 to 50 % discount, most places give it to you.
Anyone ever experience this?
Thanks for the info

I will send you my account details for the CHF 100

Have a look at Toppreisse.ch. If you know the brand and preferably the model number, you can do a quick search.

http://www.toppreise.ch/grp3_840.html

Depending on how much money you want to pay, we just purchased the Siemens model that has an 8kg capacity (probably a bit big if you are only two in the family).

http://www.toppreise.ch/prod_273913.html

So, to get my CHF 100. You have the price we paid above (CHF 1445) and the list price is CHF 3790 from Siemens (http://www.siemens-home.com/ch/fr/pr...T48Y790CH.html).

Send me a PM and I send the IBAN. Many thanks.

Shop around. Towards the end of the year many shops are going to clear this year's models. You may also find an "ausstellung" model, it may have been on display, but not used and is heavily discounted and with a full warranty.

Re: Question about large appliances

Find out what exactly is broken, get the parts and fix it yourself. We had a quote of over 800 to replace the bearing on the back of our unit. Ordered the part and installed it myself for under 100. Took me about 1 1/2-2 hours from start to finish.

Re: Question about large appliances

That was another idea I had. I have had it looked at by the repairman and have the part number, so, that would be the easieset...plug and play electronics part.
Cheers,
