Basel Drum Corps ... AWESOME

Just saw the video posted on the internet.

In my view beats any tribal belt effort thousand miles south in the jungles. So while the pharma jungle has got their beats figured out, I challenge the banking jungle (aka Zurich) to post one of their own and see if they can beat us to it.

Meanwhile we Baslers continue to attract more and more new wet-behind-the-ear migrants who come drawn to us hypnotised and mesmerised by crazy jungle drums and now-you-see-it/now-you-dont juxtaposition of flags and drums blending into each other ( for those of you who didn't get it,please forgive the rant, for this is after 10:45 on a typical monday morning !!!!!)

That video is from the Basel Tattoo. We were there this year and had a great time, next year it runs from July 15-19. The event has become very popular very quickly (it only began in 2006) so if you want to go then make sure that you get your tickets pretty soon. According to this site (and with the help of Google translator) advance ticket sales started last week, December 7th.

I'm pretty sure I saw these guys open a conference in Munich a couple of years ago. Inside a conference hall the sound was amazing!

Indeed - this year's show was absolutely awesome! The formation is called "Top Secret Drum Corps", btw.

If you're able to receive HD Suisse: I recently saw a preview for this years Basel Tattoo - they'll be showing that in HD on that channel.

you're right and they also sell a DVD (online) with the entire performance of the Basel Tattoo,got that for my dad last year for x-mouse

just in case anyone needs a gift idea

I saw the You Tube video of the 2006 Edinburgh Tattoo the other day. Excellent timing for a reminder for this years Basel Tattoo.

If anyone ever doubted Swiss precision, this should put you right.
