| | | Another one bites the dust...
Leaving at the end of the month. Quite relieved to be going. Lived in 10 countries now, this one has been by far the most difficult to live in. It's a pity...nice scenery...shame about everything else. | | The following 10 users would like to thank offski for this useful post: | | | This user groans at offski for this post:

Had very very bad experiences with dealing with the system here and been ripped off more in the last 2 years here than all of my previous 4 decades put together. Most dishonest place I've ever been. That was a big surprise...the Swiss have a good reputation abroad. I was warned about them by some French and German friends but chose to ignore it. Now I know...

A really good quote I read somewhere on this forum once about foreigners coming here:
'He who would trade liberty for some temporary security, deserves neither liberty nor security.'
I leave the cage soon. Looking forward to breathing the free air of the outside world again, looking forward to people with personalities, being able to afford a meal out now and again, not worrying about health insurance, and not worrying about scowling disapproving locals. Best of luck to those who stay...I hope you don't feel locked in.

You know that old saying ... "You can`t make everyone happy?" - well, you, apparently are the one who, well, you know, ..... is not happy.
Cheers. Bon Voyage. And may you find your happiness. | | This user would like to thank smoky for this useful post:

Unfortunately that's the great myth of Switzerland. The big salary gets eaten up fast by the orange slip machine. My standard of living here has been much lower than in Canada, Netherlands, Belgium and France.
It was embarrassing to have visitors from other countries - the looks on their faces as their credit cards got raped.

When you grow up you'll figure it out. | | | | | Now that is funny!
Another funny thing is, all the threads in the complaints section complaining about Swiss salaries, its full of them.
I am sure wherever your next stop is you'll have a good start up due to your savings from your salary over the past 2 years.

Hey, wish you good luck, and each to their own. Hope all your dreams come true - where are you headed?
But really, why didn't you join earlier - you could have had lots of help and tips from here, avoided being 'ripped-off' perhaps, to some extent. Could have made friends too, been to events, shared experiences, good and bad.
But you choose to join now- just to pour your guts out - a bit late, really. What is the flipping point
Anyway, tara me duck, and may your God go with you, as Dave Allen used to say.
