How severe are we talking about here?

Well there were rumours that the wrong kind of snow might fall, which would stop the trains and trams from working. Also fears the wind could pick up and leaves could be blown on tracks, this would definitely screw up the public transport netwrok.

Never mind the signalling problems that will occur. Essentially, point being, chaos getting home tonight.

Already snowing steadily in Bern, grade 3 snow warnings for most of western Switzerland over the next 24 hrs.

Not too sure about it. I commute daily and I've noticed, that any moderate rainfall/snow will cause trains and especially buses to be delayed..and let's not talk about general traffic.

Buses were delayed in Fribourg yesterday morning after overnight snow.

I'll let you'all into a little secret ....... folk here have been surviving winters, for generations - snow is normal in winter.

It's only auslanders and etrangers that struggle with the concept, because many of their home countries grind to a halt at a mere sprinkle.

It's been snowing steadily here for a couple of hours, and there's a couple of inches on the ground already. First time in 6 years that I've lived somewhere that got snowfall. When I let the dogs out it will be the first time either of them will have seen snow
