Glad I checked, because I was going to head out there first thing this morning.

I seem to have missed this bit of news, are you saying all shops are open on Sunday now? Or is it just Christmas opening for the next couple of Sundays?

Some shops in Baden are open, also shops like Ikea Spreitenbach, Interio in Spreitenbach.

Not round here they're not. And they won't be on any Sunday between now and Christmas. Still there are way more advantages to living in Romandie than the possibility of Sunday shopping on the few weeks before Christmas so I'm not complaining.

I enjoyed Christmas shopping yesterday. Cashiers were very friendly and didn't seem stressed at all, took their time showing customers different items and wrapped gifts very nicely instead of in a wishy-washy manner.
The only "crowded" location (meaning about 4 people in line per cashier, which is not really crowded in my opinion) was the toy department, but that didn't surprise me . And even there - no shoving, no rude comments, no tutting at the cashiers for taking their time to do a nice job with other customers' gift wrapping.
One of the nicest shopping experiences of the year for me, in fact. Even if I just got lucky, I wanted to share it here so that people who had other experiences don't lose hope too quickly

I can confirm that the shops in Baden were open. After 2 gluehwein each, hubby and I managed to spend over 200chfs on stuff we didn't know we needed, then we had another gluehwein to celebrate. | | The following 3 users would like to thank hannah'sauntie for this useful post: | |

Not today, though some were open yesterday despite it being a public holiday.
However, many will be open the next two Sundays.

And on a SUNDAY!!! | | | | | there's a special reason for that - when we did our weekly shopping yesterday and spent about 200 eur, they gave us a voucher to be used only today, in the value of 40 eur. So I bet most people there today were spending that money. I'd guess they will have similar offers for the next 2 Sundays.
