Building your own pc is always better but if you have no clue how to do it, it might be hard, plus if you break something it's most likely gonna void warranty.
I used to build my own PCs back in the day, but now I get shouted at by the wife if something goes wrong so I prefer the shop assembling it to take the risk...

Perils of married life!

Skyrim, Dragon Age and Sims in the same sentance Even WoW is a step down. That hurts soo much

Just kidding, enjoy whatever games you enjoy

I'm not one to talk, still haven't finished Skyrim or even started the expansions, I am back logged from 2010. New: Crysis', Borderlands, FarCrys, Mass Effects, Batmans, but I think I'm going to have to try out Bioshock infinity first.

That being said, I spend all my time playing 2048 at the moment

Ehgad, 2048! It made my nose bleed. How's it going?

I tend to play the games I like again and again.I plan to get started with Mass Effect games since I'm such a bum.Been curious about other Bioware games since the launch of DA:Origins.

I liked the first Mass effect the most, part ii was an acceptable extension of the plot, but the mechanic was nowhere nearly as enthralling in my opinion.

I understand ME3 frankly pissed off a lot of people, but since I had to leave the rig I built mid 2012 when I came here, and well, ME3 was never [so far to my knowledge] ported to PC, I haven't bothered.

I have built computers, and as said, built my previous pc, which now belongs to my rather grateful nephews. Is it as economical to do here [relatively speaking], as it is in the States?

Who are the largest/common vendors?

I have found the prices competitive with Canada (commonly cheaper if you have to and Canadian Sales tax).

Digitec.ch is usually the baseline for me to start with, and have personally had decent service with them.

Is then used to find better deals, but sometimes from mom&pop shops out of some swiss guy's basement where the service might be questionable.

Yes, very much ported to PC, yes, very much despised (I, personally, liked it alright.) Problem is, there was absolutely no way to write such a truly epic ending for such an epic series. I'm still thinking of rebuying all three again (I've long since lost my savegames) and going through as their equivalent of a "mage" (I went through as a sniper the first time -- WAY too easy).
