Your main problem won't be the cost, but finding moorings - some people have been on waiting lists for years. Bonne chance.

What about a place to keep it out of water?

I know a guy that bought a boat like to fish in and he had multiple offers for the mooring spot that exceeded the price he paid for just the boat.

He bought both in a combination deal. There were many people that tried to get the council to negate his lease on the mooring spot as it was so valuable and they had been on a list for years. But he bought the rights to the mooring lease when he bought the boat from the previous owner.

When I used to sail on Lac Leman, I just took the lessons which cost less than 1000chf and the joined the Yacht Club for another 1000chf per year. For which I got to use the 7 meter boats whenever I wanted to do so. Talk about dirt cheap.

And I got invited to the holiday parties at the club since I was a full member, as well.

I have been considering this also. I'm considering a trailer-sailer. I will PM you when I have more practical details.
