| | | Finnish article about boring Zurich...
I cannot seem to escape Switzerland, even when traveling elsewhere....the Helsinki newspaper carried an article about Zurich today; http://www.hs.fi/matka/Tylsä+tylsemp...a1355990455357
It at least mentions the viaduct but....I think the reporter is working way too hard to try and convince themselves much less the reader. | | This user would like to thank poptart for this useful post:

Is there any way to switch the lingo to something easier on the eye?

The executive summary is "Zurich isn't dull! No, really! Oh and guys need to pee sitting down in some apt houses at night to be quiet...but it's really not dull at all!" |

You sure this isn't esperanto? |

Any article that starts off with the myth that the Swiss invented the cuckoo clock loses me at the first sentence...

N.b. checking the original...yes, the translation got it right which seems odd since its such a simple thing so it must be tongue in cheek given the paragraphs that follow it.

Didn't Helsingin Sanomat use to have an English edition? |

I suspect I will find out more this evening at a dinner with friends. But, yes, I miss the English edition as well, primarily for the translators cheek he would insert on occasion to liven up the articles. | | This user would like to thank poptart for this useful post:

Finland is the one country that can judge boredomness.
BTW last time I was in the US, I was sitting at the gate waiting for the plane when I suddenly saw Zurich main station on TV, it was surreal. Richard Quest was reporting from Switzerland (another time).

You have to find the right people. Anyhow, I remember having lots of fun in Helsinki, but it might be because I was a few years younger. And still studying. Btw, the Finns have one of the best education systems in the worlds, or so they say. | | The following 2 users would like to thank greenmount for this useful post:

Except that it is necessary to apologize to the Baden-Württemberger and emphasize that nobody here claimed that their Kuckuck-Uhr was a Swiss invention. |

Second about the pocket knife http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taschenmesser
LSD in fact WAS invented in Switzerland, while the pocket knifes as such are more than 2000 years old, but Switzerland was the first ot commercialize them in a real way
But Kuckuck-Uhren are definitely a product of the Black-Forest in Baden-Württemberg- It may be noted that MARZIPAN is from the German cities of Aachen and Lübeck ! The Mozartkugeln are from Salzburg while Baci di Perugia are from Perugia.
