When I do laundry I am always a good girl and usually take it out straight away. Today I loaded the machine and got side tracked and when I went down to collect my washing, I discovered that all my smalls were hanging up in a long row for the world to observe along with some other items

I can understand someone taking washing out of the machine and leaving it in a heap, and I don't have a problem with that, as I understand how irritating it is to use a machine when someone elses things are there, but as hardly anyone uses our machine I am rather surprised that everything was taken and hung up?

Ahahha and now you have to spend weeks trying to work out who did it for you.

And the problem is? Someone hangs it all up instead of it beings wet and damp I would rejoice

I think somebody was being nice? Some nice babichka? Those think there is nothing wrong with panties being hung, since these panties just have been washed...

Ah crazy laundry people! When I hang my washing up to dry, if I don't collect it the moment it is dry (probably as I'm at work) I find it folded up in a washing basket!! This is despite nothing else being on the washing lines.. It's not as if someone needs the space

I don't have a problem with it, although I can understand hanging up Tshirts but as knickers are personal I am just surprised ( thank goodness they were nice ones)

( I have done several cruises and have witnessed huge arguments if someone just takes someones laundry out of the washer/dryer)

This must be another Swiss thing then, because I've actually done it for other people's laundry...

In my old place we could either hang our laundry or put it in the drier, but most people chose to hang it. Quite a few times I've put their items hanging neatly to save them time and because I wanted the machine.

I think it's much nicer to hang the laundry than just leaving it in damp pile... And wouldn't it be a tad awkward to hang the t-shirts and leave the panties untouched? It's just laundry.

Since "hanging up your gloves" is to give up boxing, the thread title really made me wonder what was being given up.

Many years ago, a former colleague had dropped a pair of her (clean) smalls in the laundry room she shared with the owner. The next day, the offending pair were hanging off her front door handle .

Hanging up your Unterhosen is a Swiss tradition. Obviously, you've never been to Muotathal.
