Miserable, $hitty weather in Bern today, in contrast to the beautiful blue sky we had yesterday. Wife is happy though, one of the local resorts in Fribourg (Charmey) had a 110 cm dump on the top slopes over the weekend.
That must have been messy.

Re: Weather!

A co-worker was remarking about why is it the weather is better mid-week than at the weekends and I remembered this paper.

It made me laugh to read it again. YMMV.

"An unexpected pattern of distinct weekly periodicities in climatological variables in Germany" Dominique Bäumer and Bernhard Vogel, GEOPHYSICAL RESEARCH LETTERS, VOL. 34, L03819, doi:10.1029/2006GL028559, 2007

Yeah, it really is funny this year - we're halfway through February and we've not had a winter as such. There's been no snow to speak of, perhaps a light dusting at the latter half of last year, but that was it.

I'm not complaining though.

Could be worse - we could be like the UK and need scuba equipment to get down to the cellar...

Sure, as do flowers on my balcony So that I against all experience prey that winter does not come back to below 600 meters. If it snows 3 meters above 1000 m/a/s it is alright

They UK-eyers deserve it. Hesitate to quit the EU in favour of some Bilaterals, hesitate to allow the Scots to quit the EU, and allow their nation tobe lead by a kind of of Maréchal Pétain like Mr Cameron
