Re: Weather!

Winter's coming... Let's start complaining about gloom, doom and cold! (as opposed to red-hot oven-like summer)

Yes, it's getting cooler, but what lovely colours the leaves on the trees are turning to. Glorious gold, red, orange. Beautiful.

The colours are absolutely stunning this year and the weather is lovely and autumnal at the moment. Lovely, sunny albeit cooler days which highlight the beautiful autumn colours.

That's nothing. You could live here where snow is forecast for later in the week.

Re: Weather!

Yep been pretty miserable today- bits of sunshine, but rolling fog and damp (no rain) and cold.

Re: Weather!

It was a bit chilly today but a nice mix of sun and cloud and best of all the predicted rain didn't show up so I got to mow the grass this afternoon.

It was much nicer yesterday in Murten though.

First frost of the winter this morning on the farmer's fields opposite us. Outside temp is 6 at the moment and dropping, was 6.3 a few seconds ago!

Re: Weather!

Give us a rough, snowy winter, please, just like November 2010, if only to look at how Geneva Public Transport have prepared themselves after the 2010 fiasco (they'd sold all their special bus snow chains to Lausanne, thinking they would not need them!).

Re: Weather!

Gorgeous weather in UK- played in the garden in Surrey with grand children in shorts and t-shirts at the week-end- it was 22C in Wales apparently- an all time record for 1st of November.

Arrived back in t'mountains this afternoon with a sunny 11C at 950 altitude- and it was only 9C in Besançon!

Re: Weather!

Ah yes- our son-in-law's dad was over for the final at Twickenham (they all went I left me to child sit ) ... and his flight from Gatwick to NI was delayed for hours... it was even worse when he got to Belfast and got lost late at night driving home, poor thing

Bring on winter - we are ready.

A reminder to all those of you living by lakes which are often surrounded by thick fog in autumn and winter- at the week-ends, if the fog gets you depressed, drive, run, cycle, take a train, a bus, a cable-car.... whatever- and go up and over that cloud- where it is probaly sunny, very bright and even warm, with fabulous views over the alps and the Mer de Brouillard (the sea fog..). Any in the Lausanne/Neuchâtel area who want to know what the conditions are on the day can get in touch for an up-date.

Same here. Heating oil delivered last week, winter tyres are on and the snow poles are being put up by the commune.
