I'm sure that pig (sow) you've got down by the lake will be very happy to hear that.
What's with your fixation on pigs?

I don't. You're the one who wrote about the pig down by the lake not me. (Sow=female pig, sow is not the same as snow)

Personally I prefer squirrels.

I don't normally draw attention to typos as anyone can make a mistake but in this case I couldn't resist since you were objecting to the animal related posts when you had unintentionally made an animal reference yourself.

Re: Weather!

A bit parky tonight- just drove back via little Siberia/La Brévine with minus 18C - mind you quite balmy compared to last Sunday night at minus 29- or the record in 87 of minus 41.8C

Fabulous clear starry sky and everything twinkling in the headlight.

Re: Weather!

I don't suppose Washington, DC and the surrounding "cantons" can join the Swiss Confederation if we can get the weather that Lausanne is getting now? I think warmer weather is the only thing that will eventually clear our streets...

Re: Weather!

Plus temps are on cards in the northern cantons these days. I have given up on skiing. Maybe it's about time to go south for sand-boarding.

Conditions are fabulous in the Alps now, and even good in the Jura- so why give up on skiing?!?

Odile, I'm sure they are but I'm kinda person who sees the melting snow in my hood thinking the same conditions might be up there. Just a mental state of not being arsed to go up there and do few carvings. Defo I should

Re: Weather!

A great pity- you are missing out. The views from Les Rasses today was fa-bu-lous- you could see the Alps from the Bernese to way beyond Mont Blanc! How sad to stay down there being bored.

I washed the car, did shopping, then I went for 1h jogging session on the hills still covered by snow although already melting. Definitely not sad and even bored. Chores, chores, chores ...

Re: Weather!

chores can always wait- skiing or boarding always come first- life's just too short honest and when you can't ski anymore ... you can do the chores then.

Unfort. the hings won't be done by themselves and need my intervention. Besides that I'm hooked to Aussie Open 2016 which is broadcast only in the morning. I will be fully committed to Alps from the next week onwards

Re: Weather!

... your choice- after my knee op I may never be able to ski again- hence my comment. Hope to prove the surgeon wrong though- but it will definitely be cruise the blues and reds on good snow only. It will have to do ... for the moment I can ski and board much better than I can walk.

Speedy recovery and surely you will, just one step at the time. I love skiing but I have done it all in previous year so quite satiated for lifetime. I know how great it is up there and one can always ask for more. We will be visiting our friends over the weekend in canton Schwyz so there will be better access to nearby slopes from there.

Re: Weather!

After this weekend massacre in Alpes Vaudoises (thousands of ppl on the slopes) there will be no snow left on the southern slopes at all...Especially that the T at night is forecasted to be positive for a couple of days....
