I am new in Switzerland. Can anyone tell me if it Ok to throw plastic bottles like coke/rivella etc in the GebarungSacke?!

Recycling plastic PET bottles?
Practically any supermarket has containers or chutes - and perhaps there is a local collection point for recycling and waste (Sammelstelle).

You can search on "recycling" and find out what else can be recycled too; also for Zurich area, "Hagenholz" would assist you in finding the local collection point aka dump

other threads of note:

• Glass and other recycling either in your locality or at a central collection point
• Recycling clothes either drop-off or collection
• The special plastic bags (in Zurich "ZuriSack"; other places have similar schemes with bags or stickers)

The answer is thus definitely NO. Those bottles would be PET. Check the label. Then there is milk bottles (like Emmi drink yoghurt, these are PE, this name is listed at the bottom rather than on the label). These tend to be more of a pain, as only supermarkets usually have a box for PE bottles.

Hmmm, not sure where you got that from, but it sounds like Gebärungsack, which isn't a real word anyway, but would be "birthing bag" if it were. Certainly not a place for PET bottles I would guess. For reference correct German term is Kehrichtsack - might save you some embarassing moments if you said the Gebärung thing to some German speakers
