Well, in Russia, they simply have what is called "face control". The Art director doesn't like you? He won't let you in. No reason given. In Montreal everything was very open, untill all the Hells Angles were sent to jail and the wannabe thugs began to cause trouble in clubs. They almsot always tended to be black and it was almost always an internal thing between Crips and Bloods (although they were not affiliated, they just liked to think of themselves that way.) still, there were shootings in clubs like every few months, clubs that I ve been to. So... they stopped letting black people in. Did it suck for the vast majority of those that were just normal joes? Sure. However the shootings and the violence has almost ceased.

As for the Permit thing... On one hand it's just common sense. A lot of kids with Balkan roots just have behavioral problems. Most are from poor families. On the other... I know a Turkish dude who drops like 3-5000 CHF a night on bottles in those clubs.

So, if you don't wan't any problems in clubs, just do what us ballers do... phone in advance and get a table.

Well actually I do not want to party with people who have behavioral problems... the point is that you cannot see this from the type of permit he has or the country he comes from.

I guess I am more logical thinking than most bouncers at Swiss clubs, but the initial point I made:
Yugo = came here as a refugee 10 - 15 years ago = has a C permit = gets into the club...

So the complete story is bigot, yes, but even more makes overall no sence whatsoever as it does not filter out the people the racist bouncers want to get rid off... or am I missing a point here?

Au contraire. It sucks for me because I have a B permit and look Russian. However I never had problems so far.

Whether the owner was black or not, it doesn't make the policy any less racist.

It's the exact same principle, and to me is pretty much abhorrent wherever it may be found.

I didn't say it was right, only that it is understandable. When it's your club, your money... All the PC goes out of the window.

That really boils down to your personal ethics and morals, not everyone is cut from the same cloth.

Trust me, I knew a couple of club owners... you have to have a certain "personality".
