Getting some necessary painting done on the house. Asked for a devis from the well recommended local man......repair crepie, and repaint 50% of the outside of the house, along with repainting the shutters.

CHF...

20,000.

Sweet quote bro.
If it's well done and depending on the number and type of shutters and what needs doing, maybe not so far off the mark.

It's not the painting that takes time, it's the preparation and sanding down louvre shutters TAKES A LONG LONG TIME.....

Re: You've been Switzerlanded - what does it mean for you?

A insurance company makes a bogus payment claim, and hands it over to a collection company.

I get a notice to pay, get the matter sorted out, and get an email confirmation from the collections company that my "dossier is closed".

Two years later, after changing jobs and in the middle trying to change cantons and houses, I go to get a Betreibungsregisterauszug only to see that the collections company has lodged a Betriebung against me since two years, and never bothered to cancel it. In these two years, not a peep from the company or the Betriebungsamt.

On contacting the collection company I am informed that I, and not the company that made the bogus claim, have to fork over 100 CHF for the bogus Betriebung to be cancelled. After doing that they cancel it, and of course I have to pay another 20 CHF for the clean Betreibungsregisterauszug.

What it means?

That after 33 years in CH (Be, Zh, Tg) we went to live in France and we met nice and friendly people who made us feel welcome and at home ...

... should've left years ago ...

Cheers

Peter
