Praising excellent customer service

Our oven (V-ZUG Combair S) stopped working on Sunday. The heating elements stopped working properly. Of course I don't know anymore where I put the oven's manual (kitchen dates from 2003). The label on the oven is very accessible with easy to read serial number. Went on the website, found the manual and ordered directly the heating elements and added on top of that protective foils and a seal for the oven door.....all online it took me less than 30minutes!
Today when I came home I found the package delivered by the post with all the pieces, detailed invoice...but no instructions on how to change the heating elements. On the invoice there was a name and phone number of the person who processed my order. Called the number and explained my problem. Within 10min I had a clear idea of what to do.....45min later the oven was working properly as new. It was interesting to see that at each step V-ZUG had a solution for me and showed that they thought about the whole process. That's customer oriented thinking! I know why I will stay loyal to that brand.

When my wife came back from a visit to our neighbour she was disappointed to see that I already finished and the oven ready to prepare dinner....she hopped that I'd give up and take her to a restaurant.
Well will do that anyway as we are childless this week thanks to the local school who took all village kids to the mountains for a camp.
Isn't life perfect sometimes? Enjoy your evening.

Disclaimer: I don't have any commercial relationship or interest in V-zug.

Re: Praising excellent customer service

Well I am amazed. Nearly 2 years ago, OH bought a Rotel water kettle. I was annoyed that the lid never closed really well, allowing too much steam to escape and of course taking longer to boil. As we went on holidays just after the purchase, and the shop was 1 hour away, we didn't take it back- and then time ticked and we left it. This morning, it annoyed me so much, I sent a really nice e-mail to Rotel, explaining I was fully aware it was too late to complain, but that I was disappointed with the 'bouilloire' and explained about the lid. Got an e-mail back 10 mins later asking for our address (no proof of purchase, or anything- so they can send a new kettle.

Now how's that for excellent and beyond the call of duty service- hurrah.

Re: Praising excellent customer service

I went into a Swisscom shop to ask about mobile phones and packages.

I also had a technical question for which I must have used the wrong vocabulary. The shop assistant, about 19, an apprentice, stopped, thought for a moment, and then asked three or four questions to clarify. In so doing, she found my level of ignorance, and then re-started her explanations, building up from there. Impressive!

Re: Praising excellent customer service

4 days later, with week-end in between- new kettle arrives- with a note saying no need to send old one back (still works perfectly, apart from lid being a little loose and letting out too much steam- so perfect for the 'back' kitchen). TWO years after purchase.

Now how's that for excellent service woohooo.
