Went to the Alpenrhein outlet recently, and was very pleasently surprised after being to a few other pretty crap outlets in Switzerland

http://www.alpenrheinvillage.ch/de-ch/home.aspx
I live pretty close to this outlet and heard on the radio a few days ago that they are really stuggling... that's really no surprise... reason Aplenheinvillage really sucks:
1. parking min 2sfr. to shop at this outlet center
2. outdoors with no roof or eating (horrible in winter or a rainy day)
3. not enough variety or enough stores... a bunch of clothing stores... only stores I usually go to are the swiss army store, lindt and tefal
4. only 1 restaurant and isn't even very good

the good:
1. you don't have to pay to go to the bathroom
2. they have pretty good hours (and open on sundays)
3. sometimes the prices a better than regular stores
Just my opinion

Helloo,
Just found this forum and I am really happy.
I was looking for an outlet in switzerland and this is how I found you.
I think that the swiss people do not understand what an outlet means.
There is one since Dec last year in Stucki Shopping Centre callled Ward & Robe.
They sell CK, Boss, DKNY and a lot of other american brands.
It is not so big but it is really cheap and if you have patience one can really find something.

I really want to go at the Esprit outlet, could you please tell me if it is worth or not?

Thank you. Cheers
Hi Claudia

I like espirit outlet very much. If you are lucky you can find simple t-shirt as cheap as 8 sfr. sometimes and they also have a huge collection of trousers/jeans as well.
hope you also find good stuff there.
cheers

In a way I'm not surprised they're struggling as it is a bit out of the way. I've seen a lot of advertising for it recently. Agree that there isn't much in the way of eating options and would be better if there was a bit more variety.

Having said that I think the shops do have a combination of good quality and much better prices than most shops in Zurich. Good bargains on clothes and shoes for adults and kids too. And it's a nice outlet in a great setting with views of the alps. Wouldn't be as nice I think if it was all indoors.

Outlet Stores

There are ample threads which discuss how Switzerland is super expensive for clothes shopping. Many of you may not know of outlet or factory stores. They tend to sell heavily discounted brand products for various reasons (discontinued product line, samples etc.). I've found a website that lists all major outlet and factory stores.

http://www.beobachter.ch/konsum/frei...n-der-schweiz/

Please note: I'm in no way affiliated to this website and just thought that it would be helpful to some of you who try to save some cash.

For clothes, I cannot hesitate to recommend Fox Town in Mendrisio. Well-deserving of those stars
I highly recommend fox town in Mendrisio, TI too. You can get some nice bargains on designer clothes. Or if you're just looking for high quality Italian suits at very affordable prices (CHF ~300 a few years back) the Del Mare store in Fox Town is great. I bought all of my suits for work there. Well worth the 2.5 hour train ride from Zurich.

What you are probably referring to is the Aubonne Outlet, http://www.outlet-aubonne.ch , although techncially it is in Allaman in the huge IKEA complex. Take the local train to Allaman, and it is right there. I wouldn't get too exited though, I find it is very overpriced and little selection, but to each their own.

Re: Shopping Outlet Centres

To update a long-dormant but helpful thread, we were just at Vicolungo outlet mall on the Italian A4 motorway west of Milan, about 3 hours' drive from Geneva, and the shopping was good.

There's a Gap, Armani, many sports brands (Nike, Adidas, Puma), and Boggi, to name a few.
http://vicolungo.thestyleoutlets.it/en/promotions

Many individual brands also have outlet stores in this general vicinity, such as E. Zegna ("The Place").

Does anyone know where the Schlossberg outlet near Zurich is? A few years ago, while driving out of Zurich, we happened to see it, and picked up some gorgeous bedspreads etc. But can't recollect the route we had taken. Does anyone know of it?

This should help with getting there again: http://www.schlossberg.ch/company-1/contact.html

Must go myself some time. Seems like they have some seriously neat stuff having seen this and several websites on them.

We recently visited Foxtown just south of Lugano recently, picked up a few branded bargains, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Re: Shopping Outlet Centres

There is also the Gassman Outlet in Zurich. The address is 92 Forchstrasse 8008. Basically all the sale from Gassman near Paradeplatz gets sent there. They mostly carry women's and children's things at around 60 to 70% off.
