RC shopping? [R/C, Remote Control, Toys]

Good afternoon, folks,

Newbie on the RC front here, recently acquired a Traxxas Rustler VXL to scratch the itch that's been hunting me for decades [for the record, it is not for me, it is for the kids, when they grow up and want this stuff, yeah? ]

So, couple of weeks riding the factory kit, I am addressing the bits I dislike and require improvement. And I need parts. The local hobby shop (Mollard Jouets) is very kind but often priced 2x above the MSRP listed on manufacturer sites. I know, I know, rent, light, staying there... but still, the brick and mortar is a risky move for a newbie, as most certainly I will buy a few (alright, optimistic here) things I might not need. I would like my cash to pay for parts, not keeping a retail operation afloat.

First of all - are there any other RC heads around here? I hope so! As the title reads - I am in search of good Swiss-based (or EU-based) store that is well stocked, decently priced and shipping to Swiss/French postal addresses. Currently have my eyes on some RPM parts (wide front bumper, hub carriers and bearings, tyres), phase two will likely include LiPo batteries, shock towers, bodies, and so forth...

Let's start simple: show of hands if you are hooked to the RC hobby and dish on your suppliers *pretty please*...

Thank you for sharing!

Got a few

Hop up parts I generally get online from whoever has em, so a lot from japan and the USA (mostly Tamiya stuff) don't have a favorite supplier more just has what I want in stock at the time

Re: RC shopping? [R/C, Remote Control, Toys]

Bump.

I've got some spare time at the moment and was hoping to get a RC truck. I did play around with a few when I was a kid. A group of friends and I even built our own off-road track. It was awesome.

I'd like to use the truck in the garden so it has to ride higher than an RC track car as my garden is no putting green .

Any shops or websites that people have experience with?

I'm not looking at getting into it seriously, just a little fun. So of course, the price should be reasonable (CHF 100-200). Battery or fuel? No idea, please suggest...

I was recommended http://www.hobbyking.com/. Anyone have experience with them?

Thanks

There are 2 RC shops in Dubi - one out on the Geeren road and the second just down from the station
