area Sonnhaldenstrasse

I am looking for a room for rent and Sonnhaldenstrasse seems to be nice to live. How is the area of Sonnhaldenstrasse in Zurich?

Calm and sunny, but with good tram and bus-links and nice Restaurants close by, and not very far from Stadelhofen rail station

Re: area Sonnhaldenstrasse

Could you recommend me such an area it is tidy, safe and there is a big supermarket chain in walking distance , live good neighbors , are bus stops & tram stations nearby and I can go out to see a lake or a river and reach there in 10 minutes by walk?

Re: area Sonnhaldenstrasse

Thank you for your reply. The areas you recommended me seem as commercial areas. Are those the places of residence?

Re: area Sonnhaldenstrasse

Wolli listed communities. A community typically consists of various zones, including mixed use and residential. I know nothing about Seoul, but I would be surprised if zone sizes in Seoul weren't much larger than around here (Seoul alone has more inhabitants than all Switzerland combined).

Ignoring other factors such as nearby main roads or train tracks, some areas tend to be more quiet (residential) while others will tend to be not-so-quiet (mixed). But differences within any given zone may be quite large.

I lived for a couple of years close (5 min walking distance) to Sonnhaldenstrasse. It is a very nice, quite, clean and safe area of Zürich. There are two small grocery stores for daily needs within 2 to 5 min walking distance (Römerhof and Klusplatz). Bigger stores can either be found at Kreutzplatz (3 stops with the Tram Nr. 15, will take you 3 mins), Stadelhofen (Tram Nr. 15 4 stops, 5 min) or at Zürich HB (ca. 10 mins with Tram Nr. 11). There are three Tram lines and 2 bus stops close by. If you want to walk to the lake/river it will take you max. 15 min but there is public transportation (Nr. 8 or 15) that takes you there within 5 to 10 mins). Another plus would be the forest and the botanical garden, that are very close as well...

The areas mentioned are primarily RESIDENTIAL areas but with some commercial areas just around the corner. And this also applies to Enge of which the main part is residential
