Go outside RIGHT NOW and look at the sky.

Every single person on here, whether a Swiss enthusiast or a Swiss nay-sayer needs to go outside right now, after 3 weeks of grey skies, and appreciate this beautiful weather. Go. Now.

We all get it that a home that is not your homeland can be depressing, but sometimes, like right now, ANYBODY can derive a little pleasure from a country as beautiful as this one, yes?

Not sure about Lausanne but here it is dark at 6 pm

Was good to see the sun again though. It was back here yesterday already after a dark week.

Re: Go outside RIGHT NOW and look at the sky.

I have west facing windows, thanks (well double patio doors to be accurate) - and can see a nice orange glow over the Jura ....... again.

It was also nice, whilst I was working outdoors, this afternoon, too.

Oh, a home that is in your homeland can be pretty grim at times. London in February, for instance, is not something I miss

I did think I saw you wave. Yes, today was so beautiful up here in the Neuch Jura- and the glow tonight amazing. To be fair, it has been lovely and sunny for days now, after so much snow last week.

We have practicall no night pollution up here- so those clear winter skies are just spectacular.

Re: Go outside RIGHT NOW and look at the sky.

Well, the moment has passed and it is dark now but while it was spectacular, it was spectacular. I have fallen in love with Switzerland over the past six years and I just feel so sad when people don't feel the same way.

I am a sentimental idiot, I guess.

Taken just now - although, I did have to open the door and take a step outside, to avoid light pollution .... although my neighbour is not helping.

Maybe because he missed it.

Re: Go outside RIGHT NOW and look at the sky.

It *was* absolutely gorgeous! Was having a pretty rubbish day, but still had to appreciate the views out 150 kms with all the mountains on display.

Makes problems seem small.

Are you on the Jura side too? The views of the Alps are just amazing from the Jura.

Re: Go outside RIGHT NOW and look at the sky.

A few photos of some favorite days.

Photos 1 & 2 are from down under, lazing about waiting for the fireworks in Sydney for New Years eve ...

3rd photo, was the view from my old home, the kitchen, yes I admit I'm homesick.

4th photo, helps make it all much better to be here now in Switzerland...

and when all else fails # 5 highlights the fact that Italy has well behaved dogs, not sure how they are in Tessin Tom

When I was out earlier with the dog, on the top of our hill, the E.M.& J.did look good, in the light of the late afternoon, sinking sun.
