Re: Only in Switzerland!

For me, only in Switzerland you find advertising in a style that was popular elsewhere in the 1950s.

Re: Only in Switzerland!

That may well be intentional: target those approching and in retirement. You don't catch those age groups by doing some stuntlike stuff.

The target audience still has a couple of brain cells to rub together, surely?

Easy - instead of "ahre shluckt" go for "ahre shlookt"
I'm afraid that's what I do.
I also discovered I am pronouncing Sechseläuten wrong all these years. Aparently it's "six-bell-ringing" not "attractive people",

James Joyce spelled it "Sexaloitez", and it isn't "six-bell ringing" but "six-o-clock ringing," because, according to a regulation from the 16th century, after the spring equinox, the church bell ringing announcing the end of work-hours switched from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m..

Joyce also coined the spelling "Silly Post" for "Sihlpost."

BL Police tries to identify 2 perpetrators.... with pixelated pictures of course.

The authorities do this hoping the perps will recognize themselves, and not wanting their identity be known to the public, turn themselves in. If that doesn't work, authorities will release the unpixelated pictures.

Who cares. The fewer they have left the easier they're taken advantage of.
