Re: Parking Fine whilst unloading...

Next time in order to respect the law, don't stop while unloading, keep driving very slowly:-) No seriously, this was just bad luck. Whenever I park somewhere where I shouldn't, myself or my wife stay in the car so you can move the car when necessary.

Complain to the landlord, he is not a visitor, and he is blocking temporary parking.
The HEV doesn't care. Contacted them once before, they told me to talk to the neighbour, which I did (in a normal and polite manner). But she is just ignorant and I really don't feel she is important enough to start a fight

OP please do not get offended, but couldn't have you stop on the parking place at the back and use your muscles to bring whatever stuff you had to the apartment? I have done it multiple times and only once had to excuse lovely lady whose parking spot I had taken for a few minutes. It is definitely worth to exercise yourself and keep your colorful franks in your wallet
I dont think the red carpet was long enough for that.

Ouch. I didn't even know this was an offence!!

As my neighbour constantly blocks the visitors parking space when I come home Sunday late, I regularly have to stop in the middle of the street (one way) to unload the entire boot before driving 3 streets further to find a spot in the blue zone (cba in dragging my stuff from there )

Maybe my luck that no police ever patrole that street, especially that time of night. But will def speed up the unloading from now on
You may stop to unload your car on the left side of a one-way street if theres enough space left (not sure how much is considered "enough", but you're probably fine with 3m). Remember to cut off the engine (and take the keys out) as it's not allowed to let the engine run on idle.

Yes, also happened to me once, I was loading in Lucerne, really no space for anything and my car was standing half on the sidewalk and when I returned to the car to pack the last things into the trunk the officer was filling out the fine. And of course I couldn't talk him out of it.
