write a letter of appreciation for a job offer?

Hi there

I did not get the contract yet because HR in Berlin needs a approval from a Manager who was on vacation last week.. so I'v been waiting for one week and thinking maybe I should write a letter to the two people who interviewed me in Zürich..(I did write a letter after the job interview to tell them I really like this company and this job, that was 3 weeks ago)

So that is, I didn't meet the HR, we just talked on phone last week, but they were looking for someone for their Zurich office.. so I met interviewers in Zurich(4 weeks ago).

I am not so sure if it's a good idea to write them a letter or something, would that be annoying?

Re: write a letter of appreciation for a job offer?

What is it you would want to write then?

Do you have an actual offer or confirmation you have the job?

If you do, I'd wait. Aside from the fact that I'm not quite sure what it is you would want to write, they were clear that and why they need time to get final approval and "hassling" them after only a week in some way or another (even if you don't see it as hassling) won't be received well.

If you do not have an offer and some kind of feedback is still pending, you can and should follow up in an e-mail or call.

Thanks for your reply, The HR said she can give me an offer with a salary and I said yes. she also said the managers who interviewed me want to have me in the team. she told me that i should wait one more week(last week), because the big boss in Germany is away.. she needs an approval from him. then she asked me if thats ok for me to wait? i said yes too.

I don't know exactly what I should write, i was just thinking maybe is better I keep contact with them?

I personally would wait a little longer.
You said the manager was on vacation last week, so he just returned to work yesterday?
Maybe he got sick, or had to extend his vacation, dunno.
However, if they really want you, they won't forget about you.

If you haven't heard anything by Thursday, you can give them a call on Thursday and ask about an update.
Or already tomorrow, if you can't wait..

Nah, they'll remember.

It's clear why they need time - manager's away plus time for completion of paperwork (yes, this may take days depending on the size of the company and other factors).

So wait at least until next Monday to follow up.
