So happy today...

Hey guys,

I have posted a few threads with some questions and concerns but today I finally can settle. I have gotten my D visa after months of problem with legalizing my marriage and other .....

First time I visited Switzerland I was sad, lost and I was not able to do much since I was a visitor and had so much culture shock. Now that I can look for work and my husband has found a temp-job (I know its only a temp but after months of job search it is very good news). I can go and apply for jobs, go to graduate school and start settling in the country!!!

It is still not perfect, having to live with mother in law, but I have to stay positive. I can be with my husband again and not have to keep separating for months at a time! Like I said still lot of work to do but things are looking up. AND when I do go back it will not be snowing, which was hard to deal with for someone who had never experienced it before.

Thanks for people who sent me PMs last time I was sad....

See you in Switzerland y'all (maybe).

Re: So happy today...

I remember getting my D. It was a nice day...even got my appetite back within seconds of having it. I will always remember that I went for Turkish food after I got it. That was actually a weird day now that I remember it...

My wife had already left for her job in CH months before...at which point we applied for my D...she returned to help pack out the house and I dropped her off at the airport again without actaully knowing when we would see each other again. Then I went to the embassy for an update and voila...the visa was ready. I then drove to a friends office and wanted to celebrate with some sujuk and kofte.

Just a bit of advice...be sure to manage expectations going forward. Hopes are one thing...and reality is often more real than we once hoped.
That being said...I share your excitement!
