Re: astonished at toilet at lausanne station...

When I first arrived in Basel, I was walking to Coop with my teenage daughter and there was a guy standing on the sidewalk in the open doing this. We were quite shocked when we realized what he was doing so,we turned around and ran & believe it or not he chased us. We ran into the Coop, so we didn't know how long he chased us for.
But since that, I have witnessed a lot of strange goings on in public in Switzerland. There seems to be a high number of people with no social skills.

Please, can any males explain this to me? Does the urge just come upon you at 4:00 p.m., in traffic, Home Depot to the left and Walmart to the right, that cannot wait until you get home? (or at least pull out of traffic into a parking lot?)
Is that why Americans buy cars with automatic transmission? I always wondered why they felt they needed it.

Of course, same ol, same ol. You people must get off somehow bashing Americans while secretly taking all of your vacations there and online trying to find a bootleg green card so they can live there. It's so tiring. Move on to something else.

well here's a toilet to avoid. I went here to take a pee. After the pee I turned around to leave and saw there was 3 or 4 pervs just lined up against the wall doing whatever.
(For those who don't know, that's the one where Badenerstrasse turns to go into Stauffacher.)

I thought that public toilet has been closed for years, primarily due to its use by drug addicts. (I worked in the building visible immediately behind it, and on occasion we'd find syringes in the surrounding city park.

Its amusing to see so many people amused at such shitty things.. @OP, I would have informed the police. Because such guys might prey on young kids and imagine instead of you, if it were a teenage boy. that pervert wud have surely done something...I mean go to gay clubs, go to streets where gay prostitutes are walking. Go and do whatever...but not in a public toilet.
Gay ≠ pedophile.

Besides, as we know from actual statistics that the overwhelming majority (>80%) of child sexual abusers know their victims, and that the perpetrator's sexual orientation has no influence on their selection of abuse victims, i.e. most are heterosexual men. Cf. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_...buse#Offenders

And finally, if you were going to abuse a child, you wouldn't be stupid enough to do it in such a public place.

What's your point?

I have never seen anything like that in public except in notorious places such as public restrooms or highway rest stops. Neither in Switzerland nor the US. (nor any other country for that matter)

Well yes, but there is a big difference between 'normal' homosexuality- and that of guys who chose public toilets for indecent acts in public. Same for heterosexuals. There is a time and place- so yes, I would say that those who choose to have sex publicly in public places, be they homo or hetero- are not acting fairly towards the public and could be predatory. If I take my grand-children to a public WC, I just do not wish to witness this- thanks. And I would not like my grandson, when a bit older, to be faced with this either. It's not on- end off. That does not make me anti-gay, at all. Public restrooms and Highway stops are for the public to use, without embarrassment or fear- what you or others do in the privacy of where ever, is fine by me.

Cruising for casual sex is not a purely homosexual thing. There are locations where heterosexuals do it too. Depictions in porn are maybe even encouraging it or at least reducing the barriers to accepting it. And if we want to start regulating different expressions of sexuality, where do we stop? Should we regulate the necklines and cleavages of the ladies so young impressionable boys don't fire their fantasies too much? I think the responsibility should be with the individual and should have some situational perspective. Unfortunately, many people seem to have lost that compass. This is sad.
