Frozen Fruit

Does anyone know where to get large quantities of frozen fruit in centre town Lausanne. I don't have car so i can't go to the shopping malls easily . Any help would be much appreciated

Vague questions like this drive me slightly nuts. One person's 'large quantities' might be another's weekly shop.

So in the interest of possibly getting a useable answer:

What sort of quantities are you talking? 5kg, 10kg, 100kg?
Weekly, monthly, or is this a one-off shopping spree (throwing a smoothie party or something)?

If less than 20kg, take your backpack, go to a supermarket and load up.
If too much to carry but it's a one-time deal, order online e.g. coop@home.
If you will need frozen stuff on a more or less regular basis, Bofrost.

Re: Frozen Fruit

Thanks for the response. My wife and I started having smoothies for our breakfast and we would like to be able to buy larger quantities of mixed berries for hopefully a cheaper price due to the fact that the small boxes and bags are around five franks a pop.

So we ultimately would like a 5kg bag of mixed berries.

Cheers.

Re: Frozen Fruit

The best place to go is to the Aligro in Renens. You'll need to sign up for a card to buy there.

You can take the tram to the Renens stop. Then walk about 10 minutes.

Great! I know which Aligro you are referring to my brother and sister in law live right next to it. Thank you so much for your help

OK, so it's likely to be a recurring order. Check out either Bofrost or Thiriet (cheaper, doesn't deliver to all of Switzerland).

Re: Frozen Fruit

Another recommendation for Aligro. Easily reached by public transport, on the light rail metro, other option is CFF to Renens but you will walk a bit.

Re: Frozen Fruit

I don't know what stores are in Lausanne, but I know Lidl and Aldi both carry 1kg bags of strawberries and mixed berries for about 2 CHF each.
