Meteor?

Did anyone else see the blue streak of light in Aargau around 9:00 PM tonight?

Based on the speed its travelling at, more likely to be a piece of space junk reentering the atmosphere.

Re: Meteor?

I also thought it was some firework because it looked very close. However, given the trajectory seemed bit odd for a firework.

Quite surprised that I saw it because I tend to be quite unlucky when it comes to witnessing celestial events.

Re: Meteor?

Saw a bit come in between Oerlikon and Zürich, I thought it was a firework it lit up the sky then sort of fizzled out, but it had a Meteor trajectory so I thought it might have been a faulty firework. Weird.

Re: Meteor?

8:45 pm last night over Wilderswil near Interlaken my wife and I saw a similar object. It was travelling south, lit up the sky for approximately two seconds. It was a fuzzy white ball and possibly hit a mountainside near here. There was no sound at all though.

It was just in time, at 20:50.

Re: Meteor?

Is no one else deducing the obvious?

Not meteors, at all - but 'visitors' trying to repatriate their kin, still held captive in the Nevada desert.

Unfortunately, having travelled billions of light years, they messed up at the end, and thought that the A 51 that they were looking for, was a stretch of motorway running between Bülach and Zurich.

You might be onto something there. I just found a crop circle in my chives pot this morning.

No but I found a dead mouse outside the kitchen door. Do you think the meteorite brought it?

Re: Meteor?

The SO saw it in all it's glory when we were on a tram---I saw the tail end and a bit of the break up.

It looks to me like something would have made landfall, but I'm no astronomer.

The green colour indicated to me that it contained some barium and I am a chemist (albeit, not a good one).

Re: Meteor?

We were driving from Geneva last night and we saw while we were somewhere in Aargau...

It was a big flash in the sky, I initially thought of a lightning or something.
