Did they pass it on the left hand side?
I, also, used to be quite musical, in my youth.

Dutch-glory - are you sure your location on your profile is accurate?
You have to know some facts about men from Bern (the so called Béarnaise).

1. Don't move to fast. If you do the Béarnaise can't see you properly, they will only get a fuzzy image of you.If the man is 40+ you shouldn't move at all to not confuse him.

2. Same goes for chatting. Over 20 words per minute is received as white noise. After a whole sentence give them enough time to process. If he doesn't answer after 5 minutes you may have to reset him.

In general as the typical 1m 95cm tall dutch girl with overbite you shouldn't have problems to find a partner.

Re: how to date a swiss men

I empathize with Dutch-Glory. There are a lot of women in Switzerland with exactly the same problem. I like circa 1950's, large, fit but pudgy/cuddly, well-educated, intelligent, intuitive, humorous men. Looks, language and nationality are irrelevant. But they are not attracted to me. They are mostly after beautiful young models, of which there are plenty in CH. Meanwhile, I am still getting asked out by young, very fit and attractive, flirty men who say they like 'solid' women.

I would suggest Dutch-Glory, that you look through some similar dating threads on the forum match them with the responses above to know who to avoid. Don't even give them one chance.

Thing is, when I was younger and prettier (I don't think briefly being a plus size model counts as "model"), I didn't really appreciate this type of man, they were just "old guys". Now in my early thirties I totally do see their appeal (with the proviso that it's more the 1960s rather than 1950s), but the single Swiss ones (ok, most men in general, it's just biology, don't take it personally) are definitely hard-wired to go for women much younger and far slimmer than myself. The expats that fit the description are not quite so caught up on age and width.

However, neither seem to be interested in anything serious, Switzerland is a candy shop for a certain caliber of man. All these young women too busy to have an actual relationship and many young men being so badly behaved that it's not even worth it for just having fun. If you are reasonable looking, intelligent, funny and well-mannered, you are already miles ahead of the competition. Ah well, 'tis what it is, just live your life, enjoy yourself and stop looking, most normal people I know are also instinctively wary of that "I want a relationship with YOU right NOW!" vibe. If it happens, cool, if it doesn't, there are plenty of other interesting and worthwhile ways to spend your time.

Lol..prof, that was funny.

I actually disagree with the stereotyped taste of Swiss guys, in terms of the female physique. It's not that important, if one is fun. It seems, though, that certain amount of dependency or subservience is expected. And that might be a universal thing? Not sure.

It seems you are right. And this is really a problem when you don't have the patience to pretend like you need help from someone who often makes a bad job of something you can do well yourself. Like build IKEA furniture or set up a home network.

I would not say universal but there is still a great number of people who believe in KKK. When I look at my circle of friends I can't see any subservience or extreme dependencies.

Let me present you some stereotypes of dutch girls

While on a first date with a Dutch girl they’ll usually:
  1. Ask lots of questions (similar to a terrorist being interrogated by intelligence officers)
  2. Will pretty much make it clear if you’ll end up in bed together at some point or not
  3. Shouting
  4. Eliminating as many outwards signs that might lead one to conclude that they could possibly be female.
  5. Telling every poor sucker that has the misfortune to get into a conversation with them that they are feminists.
  6. Dutch women like to hunt in packs. If several men are together, Dutch women, through a series of shouting, rudeness, and intimidation, will eventually home in on the man most likely to carry their shopping bags for them at Albert Heijn in the near future.
  7. From Dutch men they expect total acquiescence, and the ability to follow orders
So to summarise, what you really need to know about dating Dutch women is the following
  • Be bloody rude they’re used to it, and will not respect you if you’re polite
  • Agree with everything they say
  • Be as tight with money as the untouched genitals of a virgin flea
  • Order takeaways or do the cooking (all the time)
  • Know your place
