Recycling non PET bottles

Hi all,
Important question about recycling:
What do I do with non PET plastic. Can I recycle them somewhere ? my village has only PET bottle, and actually I have never seen any NON-PET recycle bin

Re: Recycling non PET bottles

Migros and Coop all over CH have either in-store "hole in the wall" disposal places for all kinds of bottles - sometimes very well hidden, so ask at the customer service desk or ask a cashier, I'm sure they'll be pleased to help you find the disposal in their store.
Also, some stores have huge disposal boxes out front, marked PET or non-PET, where you can dump your bottles in the correct box.

Migros have recycling holes for all types of plastic BOTTLE (not other plastic packaging).

The Coop ones specify next to the hole what type of plastic bottles they will take- they don't want bottles that were filled with cleaning fluid, laundry detergent etc etc.

Both Migros and Coop are still rolling this out (Coop is further behind than Migros) so not all of the stores have it yet.

Besides what has been mentioned about the stores, if your village does not recycle it, it probably means it is not economical for them to do this or offer it. Really depends on the commune, mine does, neighboring one does not. Hit or miss really.

It's the other way round where we are. Coop will take anything in the shape of a bottle but Migros only want white milk bottles or the clear drink ones.

So. It depends. On what, I don't know but it does depend...

You're right: apparently Coop WILL take all bottles, but haven't finished rolling it out to all stores yet. I'm surprised your Migros doesn't take all bottles: they claim that all stores have had it since the end of 2013
