here. buy this and the landlord pays the percentage he is supposed to pay depending on the age of the stove!

[snip]

http://mp-hausgeraete.ch/product_inf...IE375N14E.html
If the stove is 1 year old, he has to pay 14/15ths, if it is 10 years old he has to pay 2/3, if it is 15 years old he has to pay 100%.

If the cheapest usable installable stovetop either landlord or tenant finds is CHF 800 and the stove is 10 years old, the landlord has to pay 2/3 of 800.-,
if the cheapest possible is CHF 300 and the stove is 19 years old, the landlord has to pay CHF 300.-,
if the cheapest possible is CHF 1300.- and the stove is 2 years old, the landlord has to pay 2/15 of 1300.-

Just because the landlord says the maximum he will pay is CHF 800.- (if that is indeed the case), that does not mean that he doesn't have to pay more if the tenant decides to take things to the arbitration office.

Re: Help finding replacement Bosch Glass Stove top

It would appear from this post that the landlord was saying that the tenant would have to pay the 800? And yes a new Bosch glass ceramic stove would cost 600.

Thanks
No insurance, so we are looking to replace it. Landlord shot out a replacement price of 800chf. It is a very, very old stove.
Really hoping to just replace glass.
Could not find similiar product on the site provided.
Almost seems that you could buy a whole two burner unit for 800 CHF !

The landlord can say whatever he wants, the tenant only has to pay what I described in the post above.

Source is here (paragraph under the fields in which you can enter search terms). Don't have the time to translate atm.

Re: Help finding replacement Bosch Glass Stove top

We recently had a similar story in our home. Since I would really like to have a new kitchen in the next couple of years, I did not want to buy a new one quite yet. So, I went to Ricardo.

If you know the exact size, you may get lucky. The Glass-Ceramic are generally cheaper, as most peopke have moved on to Induction.

For example, for a used Bosch:

Or, a new one:

Personally, I would either try to replace it with an identical used one ( document with photos) or offer the Landlord the replacement price and let him/ her decide if they upgrade.

I would very much like to thank all the great input here. The problem has been amicably solved. My friend was able to negotiate that the landlord will pay 600CHF and she 177CHF.
Again thanks

Good to hear this.
Tell your friend to make sure she gets this in writing and saves it for the moving-out handover in case questions arise then. That's unlikely, but it can't hurt to be on the safe side.
Will the whole stove be replaced or only the glass top? Which model will she get?

Also, getting insurance would really be a good idea, it's not that expensive and, as you saw here, can come in very handy indeed!

Wrong, it is easily found on Google, and is still being sold.

Show me the link to exactly this model ( with the same control knobs)-not any newer model!
