Basel rocks!

Visited for the first time the city of Basel, what a nice change from Geneva!

No 4 x 4 Porsche Cayenne or fur coat shop at every corner, an architecture still worth looking at, more museums per capita, surely, than anywhere I've been in CH, nice independent shops and you've got Titbits...sorry, I meant Tibits!

There was a real educated cosmopolitan feel to Basel I thoroughly enjoyed and everyone we came across was super-friendly. I'm sure in the reality of daily life, some of you will beg to differ, but I will return, having missed the Gauguin exhibition due to lack of time.

I agree, Basel is a super place. Snobs don't like it as people actually make stuff there, i.e. some people even get their hands dirty!

Come on, put us in the picture for those ignorant among us who live in Western Switzerland, otherwise it sounds like an insiders' joke and we're missing out.

Nottingham an der Aare or Nebel-Metropole Europas or in fact
Eisenbahnen-Knotenpunkt der Schweiz

A small town beside a giant rail station, which would be the ideal successor to Bern
as Federal Capital, with the Federal Ministries spread between Aarau and Biel
