Re: Is this normal? [Neighbors not responding to urgent SMS]

Personally. Even if I do hear my phone buzzing with an incoming SMS I'm not going to jump up to read it, I'll check it later.. Sometimes I forget and later turns into tomoro..

And well, tomoro that emergency isn't really an emergency anymore is it?

Maybe it's just me? If something is urgent i'd expect my phone to actually ring, and ring again if i miss it.. etc

Re: Is this normal? [Neighbors not responding to urgent SMS]

I rarely even know which room my phone is in let alone answering an sms which would take an hour once I have found my glasses to be able to read the stupid little screen. When it rings in public I am stood there wondering where the noise is coming from.
Agree with another parent or two to be each others backups in case of emergency (by using the hole in your face that your voice comes out of) then there's more chance of getting help when you need it.
I had someone cancel an appointment & was stood there like a twat waiting for them to turn up for over half an hour before I thought to check my phone & found an sms they had sent the evening before.
It's nothing to do with Swiss or not. It's more to do with communication methods.
