Lausanne Police - Public service announcement - texting

Lausanne Police developed a Public Service Announcement video that they went public with on May 5th about walking and texting/listening to music rather than paying attention.

The video is in French (the translation of the the main dialogue is shown below the ad), but you will get the idea.

The video is shown on Lenews.ch

Incredible, isn't it? How your phone is more important than your life.
Whenever I see someone texting and walking in the same time ( which happens a lot lately) and they don't pay attention to where they are walking, I don't move.
Why should I?

Is it out of self-righteousness that you don't move? Just so they collide with you and then you don't miss an opportunity to scold them on how they are wasting their life? You can also do that with smokers, drinkers, whatever...

Oh no, I wouldn't scold them. I would just be happy they drop their phone on the ground and then step on it. They should be watching where they are going. They could step on dog dirt, bump into a child and the child gets hurt, get killed by the tram or car or bike. Did you really watch the video? People really died exactly like in the video.

so even if we say the person texting and paying no attention is fine if they hurt themselves, I don't want to be the one to hurt/kill them

I can not tell you amount of times people pay no attention and just walk into the road.

I myself was almost hit with my kids because someone was texting and driving.

It's all just sad.

By the way the French is better than the English version
