Sold motorbike, need advice - buyer has my Fahrzeugausweis.

I sold my motorbike last night, I made one mistake and I'm currently quite worried about it.

I received the cash for the motorcycle for the buyer and I handed him the Fahrzeugausweis, the keys and manual/service history.

I kept my number plates.

I have now discovered that I should have pre-cancelled the Fahrzeugausweis before handing it over, because I now have to wait for him to go to the Strasseverkehrsamt and transfer ownership. Until he does that I'm liable to pay for the insurance for the vehicle.

One complication is that I have two motorbikes, both insured on the same plates, so I can't simply hand in the number plates to get the insurance cancelled.

Its maybe a bit early to worry about it, but what are my options to get the insurance cancelled asap?

I've written a letter to the buyer, asking him to make the transfer asap. Since this is Switzerland, I'm assuming the right thing will happen. But right now I'm pretty worried about it.

Otherwise what can I do? If it does not happen in a few weeks what are my recourses?

No, the buyer took the motorbike last night.

Another complication is that the buyer lives in Argau.

If he wants to ride it legally on his plates he'll need to cancel and transfer it. Chances are he will do, probably today, especially if he just gave you all the cash.

In the worst you may have to hand in the plate.

No plates, no insurance.

I.e., no worry.
