Well quite a few on the list were burned for weather magic.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Swiss Government actively engages in weather modification.

That list is not complete. I was tried, convicted and excuted for witchcraft in 1476.

Ja, not complete. No mention of Huntwangen where the last witches were burned.
There`s a book about this village and their witches, I found it in the barn attic and gave it to a family member who collects old books, was quite fascinating to read the ridiculous charges brought against these women.
Seems it mostly involved greed (coupled with simple mindedness) as someone usually snapped up their properties after their executions.

Re: List of Individuals in Switzerland burned for Witchcraft and Sorcery

Actually, Geneva (and the Savoie) was a big witch burning area. The irony is that there is nowadays a substantial population of "coupe-feu" and "coupe-sang" witches.
The former ones will cure burns and stop all burning sensation with severe shingles, while the latter will stop any severe bleeding. Geneva Hospital severe burns unit use them apparently.

I had never heard of them nor would have ever been inclined to believe in this non-sense until one day I got excruciatingly painful shingles, could not move. A colleague drove me kicking and screaming in protest to one of them: it felt like she had a full blast hairdryer on "cold" coming out of the palm of her hand and the burn and blisters disappeared instantly. When the shingles appeared on my back a few days later, she simply repeated the procedure... over the phone and I could feel the freezing sensation.

My GP said later to me "considering the blisters you had and how well you've recovered, you must have gone and seen a coupe-feu"!

Of course your need the honorable mention of Anna Göldi, who was tried and executed as a witch on 13. Juni 1782 and the last witches to be executed for witchcraft in Europe were in 1793 in Posen.

Interesting. I wonder if she could do something for my chronic cynicism.

That's not Geneva, that's in Zurich:

Those are my upstairs neighbors around 1 am when I'm trying to fall asleep.
