Sometimes I get a phone call that BIL is 15 minutes away but hey, at least it's a warning to prepare for the invasion.
That's so nice of him! I like the word invasion...honestly I'd feel the same way even if it was my family...btw, how could one stop one's mother to call every time she feels like, keep talking and "read" one's tone of voice and intonation and then get all upset "Oh, I see you don't feel like talking now".....

Sorry. I have no idea how to do the quote thing.

In 20 years I can say I have seen him crack less than 5 times!!!!!
This was the first time in Swiss German.
it went something like this;

"Shshehehehdgfdkewqqjeebthgjdrjrhongorjgfbdh huh? Huh? Gntnrenrjejd !"

he said something like... What is this theatre you're doing here? Huh? Huh? Unbelievable....

I too would like to see what a swiss german meltdown looks like...perhaps in the age of youtube someone would be kind enough to record it and post it online...then again the odds of that happening should be as high as filming nessie or yeti...

Aren't you allowed to say "No" (in a more mellow way, of course)? I mean, that's the risk of showing up on short notice, and all those visitors should be well aware of it. Just my $0.02 of course.
