How to recycle these things

Could someone tell me how to recycle these things?

1) I have a glass wine bottle with a cork in it. I can't get the cork out without breaking the bottle. Should I do that and recycle the shards, or should I put the whole thing in the trash, or recycle it as is?

2) I also have a very large cardboard box that something was shipped in. My building has a paper/cardboard dumpster. Should I cut it into certain size pieces (what size?), or can I just break it down normally and put it in?

I'm in Vaud if it matters. Thanks.

Re: How to recycle these things

1) Natural cork and rubber is not an issue. Ceramic on the other hand is very bad for the glass recycling process.

2) Look into the dumpster and see what others determined as a god max. size.

Not saying what you should do, just what I would do:

1) Wouldn't bother with the cork just throw as is in the appropriate recycling container
2) Just cut and/or fold as much as needed so it fits and doesn't take a lot of space in the container
